The short version
Capybara Caro is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect your name, email, or any personal information. All game data is stored locally on your device. We only use Bluetooth / Local Network to connect you with nearby players — we never transmit this data to any server.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Capybara Caro(“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By downloading and using Capybara Caro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Capybara Carostores the following data exclusively on your device using Apple’s UserDefaults system. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:
- Your chosen display name (Player Name)
- In-game currency balance (Nuts 🥜)
- Purchased and equipped item preferences (skins, board themes)
- Daily check-in streak and last check-in date
- App language preference
- Recent Bluetooth game partner display names (device names only)
2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect
We explicitly do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your real name, email address, or phone number
- Location data (GPS coordinates)
- Apple ID or any account credentials
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Browsing history or cross-app tracking
- Any payment information
- Camera, microphone, or photo library data
3. Bluetooth and Local Network Usage
Capybara Caro uses Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework to enable local multiplayer between nearby iOS devices over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct. This means:
- Your device’s name (as set in iOS Settings) is broadcast locally so other nearby players can see it and send you a game invitation.
- Game move data (board positions) is transmitted directly between devices peer-to-peer — it does not pass through any server.
- No Bluetooth data is stored on external servers or shared with third parties.
- Bluetooth and Local Network discovery only occurs when the Friends tab is open. It stops automatically when you leave that screen.
4. Analytics and Third-Party Services
Capybara Caro does not use any third-party analytics services (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or similar). We do not employ advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks of any kind in the current version.
Apple may collect aggregate, anonymized analytics about app crashes and usage patterns through their standard App Store mechanisms if you have opted in to “Share with App Developers” in your iOS settings. This data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, not ours.
5. Data Retention
All data is stored locally on your device for as long as the App is installed. When you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device. We do not maintain backups of your data because we never receive it.
6. Children’s Privacy
Capybara Caro is a family-friendly game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), as we do not collect personal information from anyone.

7. Data Security
Since we do not collect or store your data on external servers, the primary security concern is the data stored on your own device. We recommend:
- Keeping your iOS device updated to the latest software version
- Using a device passcode or Face ID / Touch ID
- Being aware of who is nearby when using the Bluetooth multiplayer feature
8. Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You may:
- Access your data — by opening the App and reviewing your profile settings.
- Delete your data — by deleting the App from your device, which permanently removes all locally stored data.
- Reset preferences — inside the App settings you can reset your player name and other preferences at any time.
If you are a resident of the European Union, California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy laws, please note that because we collect no personal data, the obligations under GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations regarding data portability, erasure, or processing consent are satisfied by the nature of our zero-data-collection design.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
